CORNING, N.Y. -- The Corning-Painted Post School board gave the go ahead for Pyramid Brokerage to begin marketing and selling four buildings in the district.

Those facilities will be shut down once the district finishes its $97 million facilities upgrade project in the fall of 2014.

Northside Blodgett, Lindley-Presho, the Frank Pierce Early Childhood Center and the Board of Education building will all be up for sale.

“The idea is to make sure there isn’t one vacant building left behind and that’s why I am pleased the board gave me the green light to go forward with this,” said Superintendent Mike Ginalski.

As part of the project, East High and West High will merge into a combined high school. Northside Blodgett and Corning Free Academy will close and move into West High School.
