UTICA, N.Y. -- A string of fires in Utica this weekend has led investigators to the conclusion that at least two of them were intentionally set.
The first fire broke out just before 5:30 p.m. Friday on Adrean Terrace. The cause is still unknown, but a four-year-old girl was rescued by firefighters and remains in critical condition.
A fire later that night on Warren Street has been ruled arson. It happened around 10:30 p.m. at a vacant property where a mattress had been set on fire. Crews were able to control the fire within 10 minutes.
A fire around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Steuben Street took close to an hour to put out. That too has been ruled arson.
