TUPPER LAKE, N.Y. -- For students wanting to learn about earth science, the Wild Center in Tupper Lake has a way to help.

For the past eight months, Planet Adirondack has been giving visitors the chance to experience science in a whole new way. The program is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Science on a Sphere initiative. There are only about 100 spheres worldwide and this is the only one in New York.

Researchers say it's an ongoing project that changes every day. The sphere can show real-time data, as well as fun things, such as panoramic pictures.

"This allows us to show how dynamic and how our earth is constantly moving, not just with hurricanes and massive storms, but how our land is constantly moving on tectonic plates, which we can also show on the sphere," said Katie Morgan, a seasonal naturalist at The Wild Center.
