WAYNE COUNTY -- A Pennsylvania woman is sharing her story of tragedy and survival with high school students all over the region.

Jacy Good knows all about the consequences of distracted driving. She travels to high schools all over the country as a living example of the consequences of talking or texting on the phone while driving.

Good and her parents got into a crash in May 2008. A 30 ton 18 wheeler hit the family car, after an 18-year-old ran a red light, while talking on his cell phone. Her parents died.

Good broke nearly every bone in her body, her organs were punctured, and she suffered a brain injury. She had to learn how to talk again, walk, and remember.

Good shares her story with students to inspire them to just "hang up and drive.”

Safe driving advocate Jacy Good says, “No one needs to stand in my shoes. I have felt more pain than anyone should feel in lifetime and no one else should go through that. What happened to me is 100 percent preventable."
