TOWANDA, Pa. -- An overnight fire claims the life of a toddler in Northern Pennsylvania. It happened just before midnight Friday at a home on North Fourth Street in Towanda. That's across from Morrow Elementary School.

State police say two adults and a child were able to get out of the home, but a two-year-old boy was trapped and died in the fire.

Crime scene tape is still blocking off multiple sidewalks near the home and two charred vehicles are in the driveway.

Many neighbors stopped to look at the remains of the home and say they're saddened by the news.

Towanda Resident Aaron Valoroso said, "I run through the community a lot. I see the neighborhood and the people who lived in the house. They look like a nice couple and it's really sad to hear."

Police are not yet releasing the victim's name. Investigators are still looking into what caused the fire.
