Andrew Yaw of Trumansburg admitted to hitting his father, Clifford Yaw, with a "metal level" in February 2012. Yaw said he hit his father several times, causing numerous skull fractures which left him in a coma for several months.

Thursday, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison and five years post release.

Yaw also admitted to assaulting an inmate the Schuyler County Jail back in June, getting him two more years in prison. Those sentences will be served concurrently.
