SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A popular event drives thousands of dollars in support to more than a dozen local organizations. The 15th annual Syracuse Automobile Dealers Association Charity Preview was held at the Oncenter in Syracuse Wednesday.
The event benefits 14 organizations, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York and Meals on Wheels of Syracuse. But it also gives donors a chance to see hundreds of new cars while kicking off the Syracuse Auto Expo, which officially opens Thursday.
The event chairman says that about 1,600 people attended this year’s show, bringing in big money for charity.
"Last year was a record amount. We raised $213,000 that we donated to these wonderful charities. This year, we expect to give out over $240,000, so it's really grown into quite an event," said Jim Barr, Auto Show Charity Preview Chairman.
The show has raised more than $2 million in its 15 year run and keeps all donated funds local.
