ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- As many Christians fill up churches to mark the beginning of Lent, the thought of who will be the future Pope lies with many.

Those who we caught up with say the nationality of the future Pope doesn't matter to them. It's whether he can be effective at the job.

"I think the main thing is not if he's American, Latino or European or African. I think the most important thing for having a new Pope is that we get a Pope who is consistent in the teachings of the church," Liverpool resident Lorrane Kiehl said.

One of the main reasons for the Pope's resignation is health problems, so others suggested the Cardinals take a look at how old the candidate is while making sure he is healthy.
