TULLY, N.Y. -- Firefighters continue to search for the cause of a fire the day after it destroyed the Burger King restaurant in Tully.

An employee called 911 to report the fire when it started around 8 p.m. Officials say everyone got out safely, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital with chest pain.

Flames were shooting from the roof and crews had a tough time battling them for a number of reasons out of their control, including weather.

"It's always tough when you have a fire that you're fighting with below freezing temperatures and temperatures in the single digits. Firefighters get wet, obviously, handling hose lines. The water freezes on your gear, freezes on your equipment. As you can see, there's a lot of ice in the parking lot," Tully Fire Chief Steven Shahan.

Take a look at what the building looks like now. The outside of it may look okay, but most everything inside is burned and falling apart.

Firefighters say the roof of the building collapsed. Officials say the kitchen is severely damaged and there's no word if the building is structurally sound.

More than eight fire departments worked to put out the fire.
