BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- While the Broome County Office of Energy is still awaiting its approval from the County Legislature, the newly created office is already partnering up with organizations within the county.

On Friday, County Executive Debbie Preston was joined by representatives of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce to announce an energy seminar that will be free of charge to the community. Preston says that the seminar is aimed at teaching organizations and businesses how to save thousands on energy costs, as well as how to make use of free services such as energy audits.

"This seminar is the first of many community energy education events that will help make Broome County one of the most energy efficient counties in New York State," said Preston.

The seminar is Tuesday, February 12th, and runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. People are encouraged to register online at RenewBroomeCounty.org or to call 1-866-495-2959. This seminar is limited to 60 people.
