TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Tompkins County man has pleaded guilty to first degree manslaughter.

Dana Houghtling admitted to stabbing and killing Jeff West, 31, early last year.

According to prosecutors, back in April, Houghtling drove to the Lansing home where West was and slammed his truck into a parked car. He then went after West, stabbing him multiple times as he tried to escape.

Defense attorneys claim Houghtling was overcome with emotion when he attacked the victim. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 15th.
