ITHACA, N.Y. -- The new owners of the former Ithaca Gun Company site are looking to clean up the property and now the DEC is hoping to get input from the community on their plan.

Most of the buildings at the site on Lake Street were demolished back in 2009. The Ithaca Gun Company operated there from the 1880s through the late 1980s.

After demolition, the DEC said lead and PCB contamination was discovered at the site.

The site is currently owned by IFR Development and is zoned for industrial use.

The new cleanup application can be read at the Tompkins County Public Library on East Green Street in Ithaca.

The DEC will be accepting comments through February 15th.
