SYRACUSE, N.Y. – There is some good news for people on Syracuse's north side. Tops will be opening its First North Street store to everyone Tuesday at 7 a.m.

Employees were at the store Monday making the final preparations. That neighborhood has been without a supermarket since Wegmans left the building last summer.

There was a big push by city leaders, and residents on the north side to get a grocery store to move back into that neighborhood.

After reaching a deal with the City of Syracuse, Tops started the process of reopening a full service supermarket at the location. It's the chain's second store in the city.
