SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police are investigating two suspicious deaths.
Police were called to a home at 112 Highland Ave. Monday afternoon to check on the status of the family living in the apartment. The two people reportedly hadn't been heard from in two days.
Both of the bodies were discovered inside, however, the cause of death has not yet been determined.
"At this point, we believe that we are probably dealing with some type of a double overdose here. We did find some evidence in the apartment that would lead us to believe that this could be a drug overdose," said Syracuse Police Sergeant Tom Connellan.
The deaths are being treated as suspicious while the medical examiner determines the exact cause of death.
If it's a drug overdose, police say that could mean there are some dangerous drugs on the street that could result in more deaths.
The two victims have not been identified.
