Banner year at Rosamond Gifford Zoo

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It was a banner year for babies at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, and all those cute and cuddly creatures helped the zoo see its best attendance in 15 years.

Zoo officials say there were a wide variety of zoo babies born at the zoo during the year. There was Ty, a Patas monkey, Bajen and Ramil, two snow leopard cubs, and many others. There have also been many improvements and new exhibits.

Zoo officials say attendance increased 8.3 percent over last year with more than 370,000 visitors.

The main entrance to the zoo and the parking lots are currently undergoing improvements. The zoo is hoping for an even bigger 2013 and is starting with half-price admission through February.
