SYRACUSE, N.Y. - With one senior, James Southerland, suspended due to an eligibility matter and the other, Brandon Triche, sitting most of the second half due to foul trouble, the Syracuse men's basketball team got a big boost from its three freshmen to beat Villanova on Saturday.
Jerami Grant, Trevor Cooney, and Dajuan Coleman combined for 25 points, nine rebounds, and three steals in the 72-61 victory, which was especially impressive considering they totaled zero points in only seven minutes played in SU's previous game at Providence.
