CORNING, N.Y. -- New charges have been filed against a well-known Southern Tier forensic scientist.

State Police investigators say a 16-year-old girl has come forward in the case. According to troopers, the victim went to a forensic seminar held at 84-year-old Herbert MacDonell's home this summer. Detectives say the suspect had sexual contact with the victim.

MacDonell has been charged with forcible touching, exposure of a person, aggravated harassment and child endangerment.

He's also under investigation for an incident involving an 11-year-old child. In that case, he's now been charged with sexual abuse in the second degree, in addition to the original child endangerment count.
