ITHACA, N.Y. -- The City of Ithaca was awarded $1.8 million to revive the Commons and city infrastructure. The facelift is scheduled to being early next year.
Some work has already been completed, including construction to the Clinton Street Bridge, with the help of a $4.5 million federal grant to improve public transportation.
The Commons, which is next on the updating list, acts as a venue for not only businesses, but for many long-standing events in the city, including Ithaca Festival, the annual Chili Cook Off and Apple Fest.
