CAPE VINCENT, N.Y. -- Despite the cold and damp weather, community members flooded the streets of Cape Vincent to watch the annual Christmas parade.

People lined East Broadway Street for fire trucks, floats, Girl Scouts and a special appearance by Santa himself.

Spectators were happy to see the event rescheduled after the first one was cancelled due to weather.

"It’s the community spirit of it and all the families come out to celebrate the season,” said Shelly Higgins, Cape Vincent Chamber of Commerce.

Following the parade, kids met with Santa to tell him their last minute Christmas wishes.
