UTICA, N.Y. -- A fugitive was caught in Utica after police used Facebook to track him down.
Utica Police say Louis Wright was wanted for felony criminal contempt charges from a domestic violence incident. They eventually found him at a house on Milgate Street in West Utica.
Wright was the "Fugitive of the Week" for the Regional Fugitive Task Force, but police say their investigation only started yielding results once Utica Police put the story on their Facebook page.
"They have techniques to try to locate people," Utica Police Sergeant Steve Hauck said. "They kind of hit a brick wall in that respect, being able to find him, getting cooperation. Thankfully by putting it out there on Facebook and getting the word out, tips started coming in rather quickly and based on that they were able to get a search warrant."
Police say the other people in the house may face charges for harboring Wright.
