Unique date marked on 12/12/12

Wednesday marked the last time for nearly a century you'll be able to look at a calendar and see triple. That made 12/12/12 a popular day to head down the aisle, mark a milestone or just enjoy a little bit of luck. Our Sarah Blazonis found out if there's a little something special behind the very balanced date.

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- December 12 is always a special date for Sydni Barnett. It's her birthday. This year, on 12/12/12, she turned 12.

"I think it's really cool and I'm kind of lucky to have that birthday," said Sydni. "It's kind of rare and I'm pretty sure that Frank Sinatra was born that day, too."

Fate decided December 12th is a day Sydni and Old Blue Eyes fans will always celebrate, but people around the globe picked it to mark major life events.

Marc Currier and Tracy Maslak were one of the many of couples who said "I do" Wednesday.

"It represents complete and the two of us together, we complete each other," said Currier.

But when it comes down to it, what's in a number? One numerologist says even though it's the number 12 that's in the spotlight, believers in the power of numbers actually have the number 11 to thank for the day's good vibes.

Numerologist Cindy Griffith says 11 comes from adding the numbers in 12-12-2012. Griffith says in numerology, 11 is considered a master number and brings good karma with it.

"For marriage, it's phenomenal. It's a day that's going to make sense. It's the justice card, so it's going to be a good legal match," said Griffith.

Griffith says it's also a day that all could benefit from a little reflection.

"'What are my priorities? What's important to me?'" said Griffith. "The energy of today will allow you to look more deeply into your life, which we can all use."

But whether it's your birthday, your big day, or just another day on the calendar, it's the last triple repeating date for almost 90 years. And some say that alone is reason to celebrate.
