CENTRAL NEW YORK -- Tops Friendly Markets has purchased a handful of Big M supermarkets. The agreement was announced today.

Tops will acquire the Big M supermarkets in Elbridge, Jordan and Mexico, New York.

The sale is expected to close by the end of the year. Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed
