SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Hundreds of community members came together to help support the baby suffering from a painful and rare skin disease.

A fundraiser was held Wednesday evening for Baby Easton Friedel at Syracuse’s Palace Theatre.

Easton was born in August with Epidermolysis Bullosa, a disorder that causes the skin to blister just by touching it. He has already spent the majority of his life in and out of hospitals and fundraisers like this go to help the family with medical expenses.

Friends say the support for the baby and family has been incredible.

"The community’s been unbelievably supportive. It's amazing how an instance like this with a child can go so viral and can spread not only through the community, but through the entire nation," family friend Daniel Bennett said.

Baby Easton returned home from the Cincinnati Children's Hospital in late November, but was recently re-hospitalized at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
