CANTON, N.Y. -- The holiday season means a yummy site at the TAUNY Museum in Canton. About 20 entries from the annual gingerbread house competition are on display.

This year's theme is gingerbread around the world. Prizes are awarded in three categories: Children, adults and families.

The rules say the houses must be completely edible, but you might want to think twice before trying to eat them.

"They have to be completely edible. Now that doesn't mean necessarily they use good tasting things, because they don't necessarily use sweet items to make these," said Jill Breit, the TAUNY executive director.

The gingerbread houses will be on display until Christmas.

TAUNY stands for Traditional Arts in Upstate New York and their organization and gallery is located on Main Street in Canton.
