OWEGO, N.Y. -- One Southern Tier charity is expanding to help needy families in the area.

The Save More furniture store, a supporter of Beds for Kids, has now helped spearhead Coats 'N Clothes for Kids.

Fifty collection sheds will be spread throughout the region as places to collect clothing for needy children. The group bought three trucks to move the sheds to key areas.

Founder Leonard Hilldale hopes the sheds are filled by millions of pieces of clothing throughout next year.

"I've always known that the need was great and just like with Beds for Kids, I feel that you need to industrialize charity because it is an industrial strength problem. So we're just good at that. We're not scared of buying trucks and we're not scared of getting too big," Hilldale said.

Beds for Kids has given away 32,000 mattresses to children in need during the last six years.
