CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 13-year-old driver lead troopers on a high speed chase through Chemung County.

According to investigators, a child from the Glove House facility in Bath stole a car and took off. Police cruisers started to chase the teen down Interstate 86 in the Town of Erwin. The suspect eventually stopped in Big Flats.

Troopers say the 13-year-old was taken to the Rochester Children's Center. Criminal charges are pending in the case.

Because of the suspect's age, police did not release the teen's name.
