TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Tompkins County man has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with a young child.

Sheriff's deputies say Matthew Allen, 23, of Groton, was arrested for felony sex abuse in the first degree. Deputies say the abuse took place in October of this year with a child under the age of 11.

Allen was arraigned and released on $500 bail. He is due back in court on December 5th.
