ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Clarkson University was recently ranked number one in the country for having the highest rate of graduating seniors with internship experience.

U.S. News and World Report says almost 90 percent of Clarkson graduates have completed an internship. Clarkson also boasts that 96 percent of its graduates get jobs in their field of study within one year. One in five Clarkson alumni become CEOs or vice presidents of their companies.

The university says it works together with students to place them in internships that will lead to jobs.

"We work and try to connect students with employers, but our faculty are connected well with the marketplace and our students through their curriculum and their team-based approach. They are learning the skills very much needed in the workforce," said Jeff Taylor, Director of Career Services.

Clarkson was also recently ranked by ABC News as one of 12 schools whose graduates earn more than Harvard.
