SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Landmark Theatre is going through another transformation. It’s being turned into the set for the hit musical “Wicked.”

Crews need 11 semis and two-and-a-half days to put the production together. A special floor needs to be built, to house some of the special effects.

The show tells the story of the characters of the Wizard of Oz before Dorothy arrived.

Performers say this is a production the whole family can enjoy, with a positive message for children.

"It's a great story about friendship. It's a great story about anti-bullying. We do a lot with bully bust to talk about that. So it’s a great show for families, but it also has twists and turns, which makes it a great show for adults," said Erica Norgaard, “Wicked” Company Manager.

Opening night is Wednesday at the Landmark Theatre. The show runs through Sunday December 9th.
