LAFAYETTE, N.Y. -- The Onondaga County Sheriff's office has confirmed that the ongoing death investigation in LaFayette is a homicide.

Around 4 a.m. Monday, the body of Patricia Gryczka, 53, was discovered in a ravine along the 2900 block of Webb Road.

Deputies have not said how she died or when it may have happened. However, they did discover that her home in the Town of Geddes had been broken into and her vehicle was missing.

The car, a 2003 Dodge Neon, was later found abandoned on West Onondaga Street near Velasko Road in Syracuse.

The death has been ruled a homicide, but no other information is being released at this time.

The Sheriff's office is planning to hold a news conference Tuesday afternoon where we expect to learn more about Gryczka's death.
