SENECA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Korean War vet will be laid to rest today, 62-years after he died in battle.

The body of Seneca Falls native, Corporal Elmer Kidd, was found in November of 1950, but was unidentified. Four years later, Kidd was declared killed in action.

His remains were included in more than 200 boxes that North Korea turned over to the US back in 1993. DNA testing recently made it possible to identify Kidd.

Kidd's remains finally arrived at Hancock International Airport earlier this week.

Kidd's funeral will be at the Sanderson Moore Funeral Home in Seneca Falls at 11 a.m. It will be followed by a burial at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
