CLAY, N.Y. -- An early morning fire gutted a vacant house in Clay Friday morning. It started at about 3:45 a.m. near the intersection of Henry Clay Boulevard and Wetzel Road.
When crews arrived, they decided to fight the fire from the outside because the flames were intense and the home was vacant.
Wetzel Road was closed for a couple hours while firefighters put the fire out. There's no word yet on a cause.
