SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Police continue to investigate a shooting in Syracuse's Tipp Hill neighborhood. Authorities went to the scene on Herkimer Street around 1:15 a.m.

They say John Warren, 32, was sitting in his car talking to the suspect about collecting a debt. Police say the discussion turned into an argument and Warren was shot in the back.

Warren was taken to University Hospital for emergency surgery. It appears he's paralyzed from the waist down and remains in critical condition.

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact the Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222. All calls will be kept confidential.
