HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Numerous candidates from the Republican Party gathered at the Waterfront Grill in Herkimer awaiting the election results. And the winner of the 101st Assembly District was one of them.
Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney beat her democratic opponent Dan Carter by a landslide. During Tenney's campaign, she traveled up and down her new district from Oneida to Orange County. She says all the time in her car was worth it.
"Thank you to the voters, they've been really patient in dealing with this crazy district but they know that I'm driving a long way and they appreciate the fact that I'm trying to get there and I'm trying to effectivily represent the entire district," says Tenney.
She says she plans on representing the 101st district in segments, separating the three southern counties from the four northern counties.
