SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A bulldozer went into Onondaga Lake this morning off Interstate 690. The machine rolled into the water around 9 a.m.

Onondaga County 911 dispatchers said a person was driving it at the time, but it’s not clear what happened to cause the equipment to wind up in the lake.

The driver’s condition is unknown at this point. Officials said he was out of the water, but no other details were made available.

The accident happened on Honeywell property. They removed the bulldozer from the water, and police are investigating what happened.
