SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A teenager has died in Syracuse after a drive-by shooting on the city's east side. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday on the corner of Croly and East Fayette streets.
Police say an 18-year-old male was shot multiple times while standing in front of a store.
Moments after the call came in, an officer nearby discovered the victim just a few yards away. He was pronounced dead at Upstate University Hospital.
So far, there aren't any suspects, but police hope someone caught a glimpse of the car involved.
"We're working with some witnesses. We believe there probably are witnesses are out there, either in their homes around here or people that were in the street. We are appealing to those people to come forward with information," said Syracuse Police Sergeant Tom Connellan.
Officials are not releasing the victim's name until the family is notified.
