ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The remains of an apparent homemade bomb are recovered in Oneida County.
The sheriff's office said the bomb was turned in Sunday by someone who found it along a walking trail in Trenton last weekend.
Deputies said the bomb was a 2-liter soda bottle filled with gas and a large amount of live ammunition. According to investigators, the device had been lit and some of the ammo had exploded. When it was found, authorities say the bomb was no longer active.
The sheriff's office advises anyone who finds a suspicious-looking device not to touch it and to notify local authorities.
They're also asking anyone with information on this device to call investigators at (315) 896-2985.
