NBA veteran Adonal Foyle came back to Hamilton High to celebrate the 4th of July Weekend by receiving induction into the school's Hall of Honor. Six others were inducted, including his high school hoops coach Thomas Blackford, who now coaches at Fayetteville-Manlius.

Foyle boasts an inspirational story. He moved to the school district from St. Vincent and the Grenadines his junior year. He helped lead Hamilton to its first state championship. Foyle hadn't even played organized basketball till age 16.

He then attended and played college basketball right across the street at Colgate University. He left Colgate as the NCAA's all-time blocks leader. He was then drafted eighth overall in the 1997 draft by the Golden State Warriors. He most recently played for the Magic two seasons ago before undergoing knee surgeries.

He's the Vice President of the league's player's union and also founded Democracy Matters, a non-partisan student organization, as an effort to counteract political apathy on college campuses. The organization's signature issue is campaign finance reform, particularly Clean Elections.
