CANTON, N.Y. -- After less than a year on the job, SUNY Canton will be losing its latest president. SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher announced Thursday that interim SUNY Canton President Carli Schiffner will be resigning at the end of July.
Schiffner took over as interim president last September.
SUNY Potsdam President John Schwaller also announced he will be leaving his post at the end of the academic year.
SUNY officials in Albany say they will announce interim presidents for both colleges before July 1st. There were concerns that only one president might be appointed for both campuses, but SUNY officials confirmed Thursday that formal searches will begin for each college in the fall.
