This is a great time to spend a week in the American Southwest! If you find yourself traveling I-10 near Palm Springs, keep your eye out for dinosaurs! The Cabazon Dinosaurs can't be missed! They DO stand out in the middle of the desert! Life-size creations made in the early 1960s have become a big tourist attraction. If you've seen the movie 'Pee Wee's Big Adventure,' you'll recognize the dinos!

Head North on Rt. 62 from I-10 and in about a half hour, you're at Joshua Tree National Park! Hiking trails and rock climbing are the big draws but the 'drive' thru' is just as exhilarating. $13 per car! Very affordable! Bring a camera!
