PAINTED POST, N.Y. -- The Greater Steuben Chapter of the Red Cross was the main beneficiary of the 3rd Annual Ride for the Red Motorcycle ride in Painted Post.

About 150 bikes took to the road with all of the proceeds raised going directly to the Red Cross. The money will be used for emergency disaster relief and to benefit local service men and women deployed overseas. And organizers believe the relationship between the Corning Hog Chapter and the local Red Cross provides a major benefit to local area.

"The Red Cross just happened to be a perfect fit because we want to do it for a local charity where everything stays local in the community. The Red Cross guaranteed us that it does," said Corning Hog Chapter Asst. Director Paul Simonson.

"It is wonderful to see the support from the Hogs clubs. And we have riders from all over, even from Canada that have come down to support this. And it is good community support for the Red Cross," said Red Cross volunteer Linda Conway.
